Olivia Munn shares update on baby Malcolm: “A big day for us”

Olivia Munn’s son just reached a major milestone.

The “Newsroom” actress welcomed her first child with partner John Mulaney in November 2021 and took to her Instagram followers to update them on her baby’s months-long milestone. On Friday, she shared a photo of Malcolm sitting up from behind on her Instagram story with a caption explaining how important the moment is to the family.

“He’s 7 months old today and he’s sitting up on his own !!!!!!” She gushed. “It’s a big day for us.”

This is just one of the many photos Moon, 41, has shared of her new son on Instagram. Earlier this week, she posted a photo of Malcolm getting to know friend Jon Stewart. on June 10, she posted a video of Mulaney making Malcolm laugh.

Earlier this month, the New Girl alum shared an update about motherhood on Instagram.

“My body didn’t bounce back, but it made this little guy, so I just love it,” she wrote in a video of her holding her son. It’s worth it.”

Moon also used social media to talk about the infant formula crisis. Going on Twitter, she pointed out some of the more frustrating comments people have said to parents and caregivers trying to find ways to feed their babies.

“It’s crazy when people say ‘If you breastfeed, you don’t have to worry about a formula shortage!’ It’s crazy when that happens! My breast milk supply is low, so in order to keep my baby fed, I rely on formula,” she explained in a tweet. “I wish I could have breastfed so I wouldn’t be panicking about the shortage right now. But I had no choice.”

The new mom first addressed the issue in January, when she revealed to her followers that she was struggling to produce enough milk to feed Malcolm.

“Breastfeeding is so hard. Especially if your supply is low,” she wrote in a post Instagram post. “Eight weeks later, I was taking a million vitamins, countless teas, lozenges, tinctures, and working with two lactation consultants.”

The following month, she shared that “nothing worked” in terms of producing breast milk – and she encouraged other parents in a similar situation not to get discouraged. She said in an Instagram post at the time, “Do whatever you need to feed your baby and don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it.”
